FCALLBOX3 Display Box

    Power up

Details :

At first the FCallbox display was created to be connected to the FCallbox display remote, however it can be used with others devices through a TTL serial connection.

So, to test it, I propose below a FTDI TTL-232R-R converter interface, the display can be accessible through USB.

Now, we need to flash the FIRMWARE into the CPU :

- Connect the PIC programmer (here a PIC kit 2) as below, then connect the FTDI to a USB port of a PC powered and use the Microchip programming method (for example with the PICkit 2 programmer, note : the PIC is a 18F4550) :

- when programmation is done, remove the programmer and do an ON/OFF cycle by removing and reconnecting the FTDI.

- Now you should see "WAIT" on the display as the picture.
